In 1962, James Stewart and Gregory Peck lead audiences on an adventure covering several decades of Westward expansion in the nineteenth century in the classic film How The West Was Won.
Tonight, the Spurs and the Warriors will meet in the sequel.
Numbers 1 and 2 in the NBA square off in the Lone Star State tonight separated in the standings by just a few games. The last time these two titans squared off, both teams sat a majority of their stars. This time, the game (much like the rotten tomato score for the movie) , shouldn’t disappoint.
You know what did disappoint? Victor Oladipo’s 3-year stint in Orlando. Coming out of Indiana, Oladipo was the second pick of the 2013 NBA draft. While not a total bust, Big Vic never amounted to the superstar the folks in Orlando envisioned him to be. Now lacing up his shoes for the Thunder, Oladipo returns to Orlando tonight in a #Revenge spot in a game with the second highest over under on the slate. Welcome home.
Speaking of #Revenge games… from the slums of HotLanta, The Hawks Clan strikes again. The RZA, the GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon the Chef, U-God, Ghostface Killah… errr… Ilya. Let’s be honest. Ersan Ilysova has played for more teams that there are members of the Wu. But tonight, he faces a 76ers team in which he played for most recently. That’s totally a thing.
As the season winds down, as do the stadium giveaways. The Clippers will be giving out a Chris Paul alleyoop Action Figure at the Staples Center and the folks in New Orleans will be giving away Pelican youth jersey shorts. Do with that what you will.
Happy Birthday to Walt Frazier. Enjoy some highlights from the man called Clyde
