It’s Monday and we have ourselves a six-game slate with pace-down games galore, but hence we carry on. Here’s some #narratives to watch for on Monday:
Magic small forward Terrence Ross takes his suboptimal talents back to Toronto tonight to take on the team who drafted him and he spent the first five seasons of his career. This is the first game against the Raptors since being dealt out-of-town so that Serge Ibaka could make his way to #WeTheNorth. Speaking of Ibaka, he is obviously taking on his former Orlando squad where he spent just half a season. Speaking of African NBA players, Bismack Biyombo also travels back to Toronto to battle his former team. Biz spent last season in a Raptors uniform where he had a breakout season which resulted in a juicy off-season contract with Orlando. It’s a prime #revenge spot for all three.
The other Greek Freak in the Association, Kosta Koufos, hosts the Grizzlies where he spent 2 seasons from 2013-2015 before signing with Sacramento this season. Koufos did sit out yesterday’s contest so he will be fresh and ready to go for most likely a struggle to 4x value.
Russell Westbrook is playing on a road back-t0-back in a miserable pace down game, but he does travel to Dallas to take on the Mavs and their critical owner Mark Cuban. Cuban has been very open publicly about Russ not being a superstar which is absurd, but full motor Westbrook with an extra chip on his shoulder is always something to consider on your DFS radar. Russ this season has played Dallas twice averaging 55 DraftKings points. The Thunder are scraping for playoff seeding so I love Russ to go bonkers in this spot.
The Cavs travel to San Antonio to battle the Spurs in a spotlight TNT televised game. LeBron James has been open in his love for Gregg Popovich. This is a bit of a narrative reach, but I like James to play inspired ball in front of Pop on national television on an otherwise slow sports night.
That’s it — let us know what we missed @nbanarratives — Thank You!
