It’s finally Friday, and with the end of the work week comes a full slate in the NBA tonight. As you set your DFS lineups, there are a few narratives to be aware of. On tap are a few #revengenarrative games, a couple of notable birthdays, and a bobblehead night! Let’s take a stroll down #NarrativeStreet…
Happy Birthday to Mr. Cavalier, Austin Carr! Carr played 10 seasons in the NBA, 8 for the Cleveland Cavaliers. While “AC” was an excellent player in his day, he is probably most widely known now for doing play by play and analysis for Cleveland Cavaliers home broadcasts on Fox Sports Ohio. I’ve heard from other teams’ fans that hearing him on league pass is aggravating, but you have to understand that he’s basically your funny grandpa who is a 100% homer for his favorite team. We love ya AC, and this call by AC and Fred McLeod from Game 7 of last year’s NBA Finals puts a smile on my face no matter how many times I see it:
Happy Birthday to Zach Lavine! While the Timberwolves are on the slate tonight, Zach is out for the season with an injury. Get well soon buddy.
Happy Birthday to Quincy Pondexter! (not on slate)
Bismack Biyambo and Orlando head to Charlotte, who Biyambo played his first 3+ seasons for. As of this writing, Vucevic is still Q, so who wants to sex Biyambo?!
Monta Ellis and the Indiana Pacers travel to Milwaukee where Monta played 2 seasons (after GS, before Dal). I haven’t rostered Monta all season, but maybe tonight’s the night he gets hot. Or maybe he finishes with 12 points and 1 rebound like usual before getting online and posting memes.
Yogi Ferrell, now playing big minutes for Dallas, looks to get revenge against the Nets who tried to hide him on their D-league team before being snatched by Dallas.
Devin Harris, also with Dallas, host the Nets who Harris spent time with from 07′-08′ to 2011.
D.J. Augustine, now with Orlando, also travels to Charlotte to take on the team who drafted him.
We hope you played Dirk the other night! He needed 20 points to reach the 30,000 club, and he treated us to a throwback performance, dominating the 1st half with 18 points and finishing the game with just under 40 FD points. It was a lot of fun watching him turn back the clock to when he could take over games at will.
Tonight, Dallas is giving away Dirk Nowitzki bobbleheads to fans in attendance. I won’t go out on a limb and basically guarantee a stellar game like last time, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Dirk kept up the stellar play on his bobblehead night.
