After what seems like a month of big slates, we get a more typical Tuesday slate with only 4 games on tap tonight in the Association and we’re reaching on narrative street today. We do have the traveling “Triple Double Show” make it’s way to South Beach tonight as Russell’s Thunder take on the Heat. Dion Waiters would have been chauffeuring us all down down narrative street today as he’d have been a lock for 25+ shots in a revenge spot, but he’s already been declared out and will miss his 16th game in a row.
Westy who now has 51 career triple-doubles, has 29 more triple-doubles than the entire Heat franchise in it’s 29 seasons. Another way to look at this is that the Heat franchise would have 73 triple-doubles had the Heat selected Westbrook in the 2008 draft – instead they opted for Michael Beasley with the 2nd overall pick and Westbrook fell to Seattle at 4. You heard it here first – Russell’s #didntdraftmerevenge game narrative – lock in the triple double. Bold call, we know.
In other news to note;
IT2 dropped a career high 44 points against the Grizzlies in Memphis just a week ago.
James Harden and the Rockets go for the season sweep of the Mavs tonight, the last time they did this Dirk was 19 years old.
Tony Allen (Memphis @ Boston) – We’ve mentioned the grindfather here before, he typically gets his in revenge spots against the team the drafted him. See his statmuse query if looking for a punt with consistent output.
No active players with birthdays today, however, we’ll mention former NBA journeyman Dahntay Jones who turns 36 today. We mention the child of the 80’s mainly for a reason to add the gif of his former Cavs mate posterizing Klay on Christmas day.
As always, let us know what we missed @nbanarratives — Thank you!
