A decent five-game slate tonight doesn’t provide us with one central #narrative to focus on, so I thought I would go game-by-game and provide small storylines for each:

Washington @ Indiana (-5.5) 212.5

Washington playing on a road back-to-back

Ian Mahinmi revenge spot

Detroit @ Chicago (-3) 195.0

Both teams having a bit of a crisis as evidenced by each calling team meetings after their last game. Detroit called a players only meeting after Saturday’s lost to the Pacers and Stan Van Gundy hinted at lineup changes. The Bulls held a “training camp-like” 2.5-hour practice Sunday where Dwayne Wade was very vocal to pick up the mood for the team. Look for both teams to play with more energy tonight. Wade’s home splits this season at the United Center also in play.

Atlanta @ Oklahoma City (-3) 208.5

Thabo Sefolosha revenge spot

Russell Westbrook is playing. Triple-Double incoming.

Dallas @ Denver (-8.5) 203.5

Dallas is playing on a road back-to-back

Dallas is actually playing in a game with a game total over 200

Phoenix @ Minnesota (-5.5) 214.5

Nothing of note except for the Kentucky alumni mixer on the court tonight: Karl Anthony-Towns, Devin Booker, Brandon Knight, Eric Bledsoe, Tyler Ulis.

Birthday Games

None, but shout out to our favorite Lithuanian, Arvydas Sabonis who played seven seasons in the Association for the Trail Blazers. His son, Domantas, plays for OKC tonight (Dad birthday game narrative?) Look at this sweet move:

Let us know what we missed @NBANARRATIVES — Thank you!

  1. This is an awesome tool. Would be great if you could post results against the narratives. Could be the first “immeasurably contextual” stat directory online. What’s a revenge game worth? A birthday? Etc.
