Narrative of the day
It’s really happening. Angry Russ versus Angry Kevin. Clear your calendar because this is the epic revenge / narrative must watch of the early NBA season. Make no mistake these guys can’t stand each other. I cannot wait for the designed isolation plays in this game to showcase two pissed off stars go at each other. I’ve got some imperial IPA’s already chilled and ready to go for the late hammer game of the year!
Westbrook is the first player since Magic Johnson in 1982-83 to post a triple-double in two of the season’s first three games. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Westbrook is the first player in NBA history with at least 100 points, 30 rebounds and 30 assists after three games. Sprinkle in this added motivation and we could be looking at an absolute monster stat line not seen in years, if ever. Russ averaged just over 50 fantasy points per game last seasons versus the Warriors, but his usage this season (+- 70 fpts / game thus far) coupled with the stage set is just a DFS dream come true.
If you don’t stay up for this game, quit life.
Monta Ellis (Pacers @ Bucks) – This model of inconsistency played in Milwaukee for two seasons from 2011-2013.
Cleveland Cavs (All players) (Celtics @ Cavs) – These two teams aren’t fond of one another, and even though Kelly Olynyk isn’t playing, this Cavs team won’t forget this lanky turd pulling Kevin Love’s shoulder out of its socket two seasons ago. The Land remembers. To add to the intensity here, this bout in Cleveland is the first of the TNT double header, and The King & Co are coming off an emotional rollercoaster watching the Tribe drop game 7 last night. Bron will want to remind the world that Cleveland is still a championship city.
Ty Lawson (Sacramento @ Orlando) – tread lightly with this narrative as Ty isn’t shy about getting after it. Could have the hangover that translates into a 9 fantasy point performance. Proceed with caution.
