February 21st #NarrativeStreet

Narrative of the Day

Kobe made his desires to play in Chicago clear on more than one occasion in his career, including in 2007 when he demanded a trade and stated “Chicago was his #1 choice” – allegedly a deal was struck, but Kobe vetoed as he felt it would have left Chicago to thin as said deal was to ship stars Ben Gordan and Luol Deng (who at the time was 21 years old and coming off a season in which he played 82 games at the level he has the last two).

As history has it – Kobe stayed in LA, the Lakers brought in Pau Gasol the next season and Kobe/Pau would go to the next 3 finals together, winning two.

We’re looking forward to vintage ’09-10 performances from Kobe & Pau tomorrow in what should be an emotional game for the duo… & no Butler benefits both.
